CULTURE
At Arena, we are committed to a responsible approach to environmental sustainability, both within the office and our community.
IN THE OFFICE
We use video and telephone conferencing facilities to minimize travel, and book Green Tomato Cars where it's necessary. We also offer staff the 'Ride to Work' scheme, provide secure bike spaces and support the annual 'Walk to Work Week'
A number of other initiatives have been implemented to conserve energy, including water-saving showerheads, motion sensors to turn lights off during inactivity, energy saving bulbs and installation of the only hand dryer awarded the Carbon Label.
Bottled water is supplied by LIFE, the non-profit charity, who promise to deliver clean drinking water to the developing world at the same volume we consume it. Our coffee is Fairtrade and our tea ethically sourced. Our cleaning company, Green Your Office, use environmentally friendly products.
The paper we use is recycled, plus we recycle every type of waste possible - from paper, plastic and glass through to electrical equipment.
We pride ourselves on training everyone to the highest standards and are an ongoing member of the IPA's Continuous Professional Development scheme (CPD).
Our cleaners are paid the London Living Wage, a higher rate of pay than the standard minimum, which aims to provide them with a more realistic salary for living in the capital.
COMMUNITY
We also think about the community and the impact of our business upon it.
At Arena, we support internal fundraising and many people take part in marathons, triathlons and other gruelling or flamboyant events to raise money for their chosen causes. Old mobile phones are donated to Action Aid and unwanted items are donated to local charity shops.
This year, we are supporting staff members on the Global Village project for Habitat for Humanity in Bangalore, whilst we are also providing flexible hours for those wishing to support other projects within the local community.
